Thomas Hamilton – Bass Drum
Thomas Hamilton, 21, brings over two years of experience as a bass drum veteran at Resistance Indoor Percussion. From Sapulpa, OK, he's a dedicated percussionist who also works full-time at an instrument repair shop, enhancing band and orchestra instruments. Additionally, he generously assists local marching groups, sharing his expertise and passion for music.
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: I once made a deal with my percussion director to shave his beard if a friend and I shaved our heads, and I have photo proof of the shaved beard.
Q: What do you love most about being part of RIP?
A: I enjoy the atmosphere, culture, and performing with people who become my best friends.

A: This is the kind of band that can be considered a sport

Brett Miller – Cymbals
Brett Miller, 18, is a first year member on cymbals for Resistance Indoor Percussion. Originally from Bentonville, Arkansas, Brett is a recent graduate of Bentonville High School and is currently pursuing a degree in civil engineering at the University of Arkansas. Looking ahead, Brett wants to pursue a career in the civil engineering field post-graduation, while also dedicating his time to teaching drumline.
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: I enjoy speed solving Rubik’s Cubes in my free time.
Q: What do you love most about being part of RIP?
A: The community that encourages improvement is what I enjoy most. No matter what instrument you play, the people are supportive of you & reaching your goals. I feel that I am improving my percussion skills much faster ever since I joined.

A: Resistance is a well run organization that creates a both productive & fun environment. Everyone is committed to the task at hand and the process of producing something larger than themselves.

Nathan Rainey - Front Ensemble/Marimba
Nathan Rainey, 20, is a one year front ensemble vet at Resistance Indoor Percussion. Being from Oklahoma and an alum of Choctaw High School, Nathan is currently pursuing a degree in music education at Oklahoma City University. With plans to become a band director in Oklahoma post-graduation.
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: I used to race cars for fun.
Q: What do you love most about being part of RIP?
A: I enjoy the memories with the family you make along the way. The whole reason I’m here with RIP is because of the family we built from last season.

Johnpaul Nguyen – Front Ensemble/Marimba
Johnpaul Nguyen, 18, is a first year member of the front ensemble for Resistance Indoor Percussion. Being from Moore, OK, Johnpaul is a recent graduate of Southmoore High School and is currently pursuing a degree in computer science at the University of Oklahoma. His plans for after graduation is to #be-employed
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: I teach on the side.
Q: What do you love most about being part of RIP?
A: I enjoy the nights with the other members. I am at resistance because of peer pressure.

A: Playfully serious.

Brayden Colvin - Front Ensemble/Marimba
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: I absolutely love meatball sandwiches.
Q: What do you love most about being part of RIP?
A: The member experience is really good and it's great to be apart of growing the only independent indoor group in Oklahoma.
Q: What's one thing you'd like others to know about Resistance?
A: The staff keep the members in mind for every decision made. They treat everyone with a high level of respect and will push you far beyond what you think you can do. And they do it in a positive way.

Brayden Colvin, 18, enters his second year as a member of Resistance Indoor Percussion. Being from Moore, OK, Brayden is currently completing his high school education at Westmoore High School. He plans to pursue music composition after graduation.
Carson Petty - Tenors
Carson Petty, 19, is a first year member on the tenors at Resistance Indoor Percussion. Being from Oklahoma and a graduate of Southmoore High School, Carson is currently pursuing a degree in computer science at the University of Oklahoma. With plans to work at Tinker AFB and share his passion for percussion by teaching drumlines after graduation.
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: I used to be a pitcher and play golf.
Q: What do you love most about being part of RIP?
A: I get to learn from staff and peers I have watched while still in high school. It gives me a chance to do WGI and stay close to home.

A: I have made a lot of great friends here and get to learn from so many different educators

Blake Chilcoat - Tenors
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: I once delivered 300 pizzas to a church. I’ve also performed on drumset in the Lucas Oil Stadium for the Raiders Drum corps.
Q: What do you love most about being part of RIP?
A: Getting to hang around awesome people and have a blast drumming every weekend! I am here to educate myself on percussion and performance.

A: Resistance is an organization that achieves greatness everyday. We have wonderful staff and a helpful team of admin that help the members push ourselves to do our best.

Blake Chilcoat, 22, is a first year member playing on tenors at Resistance Indoor Percussion. Originally from Tulsa, OK, Blake is an alumnus of Union High School and is currently pursuing a degree in accounting at Tulsa Community College. Blake harbors a passion for drum set performance and dreams of playing on a cruise ship after graduation.
Noah Williams – Front Ensemble/Xylophone/Glockenspiel
Q: What do you love most about being part of RIP?
A: For me, the community is the most important part of why I chose to come back. I’ve got lifelong friends in this organization; I’m honored to get the chance to hang out and make music with them again.
Q: What's one thing you'd like others to know about Resistance?
A: Resistance is a safe space that really helps young percussionists take their mind off of their day-to-day worries and struggles in life. Each weekend is fulfilling in its own way, and after the weekend is in the books, you go back home, refreshed and prepared to face the weekly challenges ahead.

Noah Williams, 20, returns for his second year as a member of the front ensemble at Resistance Indoor Percussion. Originally from Broken Arrow and an alum of Broken Arrow High School, Noah is currently enrolled at Tulsa Community College, where he is majoring in computer science. With aspirations to transfer to Oklahoma State University upon graduation to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
Ian Humphreys – Bass Drum
Ian Humphreys, 18, is a first year bass drum member at Resistance Indoor Percussion. Being from Edmond, OK, Ian currently attends Edmond Memorial High School. He plans to pursue higher education, and is considering Oklahoma State University after completing high school.
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: I love to skateboard and have been for about 4 years.
Q: What do you love most about being part of RIP?
A: I love the people and the atmosphere. Obviously drumming at this high of a level is amazing but the friends I have made stand out to me more.
Q: What's one thing you'd like others to know about Resistance?
A: Resistance is about socialization as well. You are able to make lifelong friends and have an amazing percussion education.

Gloria Atoyebi – Front Ensemble/Vibes
Gloria Atoyebi, 22, first year member in front ensemble to Resistance Indoor Percussion. Originally from Yukon, OK, Gloria is an alumna of Yukon High School and attended the University of Oklahoma, where she pursued dual degrees in computer science and music performance. She currently works full-time in music.
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: I once turned a Nintendo DS lite into a Gameboy advance (despite not having any GBA games to play on it lol)
Q: What do you love most about being part of RIP?
A: Playing great music + playing with cool people = lots of fun

A: Be prepared to give up your weekends for this! (Unless you're like me and never have plans on the weekends)

Drew Skelton - Snare
Drew Skelton, 18, has been a vet to Resistance Indoor Percussion for over 2 years and is returning to the ensemble on snare drum. Being from Piedmont and a graduate of Piedmont High School, Drew is currently enrolled at the University of Oklahoma, where he is majoring in computer science. With aspirations to pursue a career in software development post-graduation.
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: I love spicy food, and my dad grows carolina reapers in our back yard.
Q: What do you love most about being part of RIP?
A: I love that Resistance gives every member a chance to help the show come to life through visuals, and that the shows always have a vastly unique style to other indoor groups.
Q: What's one thing you'd like others to know about Resistance?
A: The community is welcoming and wildly talented. Being around the group for so long has changed my life, work ethic, and confidence for the better.

Aiden Carrera – Front Ensemble/Vibes
Aiden Carrera, 18, returns for his second year as a member of the front ensemble at Resistance Indoor Percussion. Being from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a graduate of Union High School, Aiden is currently pursuing a degree in computer science at the University of Oklahoma. After graduation, Aiden wants to pursue a career in computer programming, and also continue making/ producing music on the side.

A: Currently contracted for Cavaliers & my job is playing organ for my church

A: I enjoy making memories and playing music with my friends

Benjamin Gibbs - Snare
Benjamin Gibbs, 18, is a first year member on the snare line at Resistance Indoor Percussion. Being from Bentonville, AR, Benjamin is currently completing his high school education at Bentonville High School. With plans to pursue higher education after graduation, Benjamin is considering either the University of Missouri or the University of Arkansas.
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: My average sleep quality is comparable to those in Saudi Arabia (via sleep cycle).
Q: What do you love most about being part of RIP?
A: I auditioned late to fill in a snare spot, so I really had no idea what to expect. But during that first rehearsal I immediately fell in love. Everyone is here to help you be the best you can, and they will do nothing but support you. Everyone here is the reason I keep coming back every weekend.

A: We have the best housing site. No arguing.

Roselyn Guzman – Visual Ensemble
Roselyn Guzman, 16, rejoins the visual ensemble at Resistance Indoor Percussion for her second year. Originally from Springdale, Arkansas, Roselyn currently attends Springdale High School. With aspirations to pursue a major in business after graduation.
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: I am involved in 5 different school organizations, and I play the oboe!
Q: What do you love most about being part of RIP?
A: I enjoy the community that resistance has! It’s so fun making memories with so many people, and becoming close to people I would have never known without resistance.
Q: What's one thing you'd like others to know about Resistance?
A: Resistance has a place for everyone. There is so many different kinds of people, but everyone comes together for a love of music!

Foster Maddox - Bass
Foster Maddox, 21, is a bass drum vet of Resistance Indoor Percussion for over three years. Being from Oklahoma and a graduate of Jenks High School, Foster will continue to dedicate his passion for percussion in the community.
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: I’m a super vet of resistance, I’ve marched every bass drum throughout my marching career. I love being around drums, teaching and playing.
Q: What do you love most about being part of RIP?
A: It’s my home town team. I’ve been here since 2020 and I’ve built something that I hope continues for many years to come.
Q: What's one thing you'd like others to know about Resistance?
A: It’s a fantastic starting place for people in Oklahoma if they want to march an independent organization.

Nate Schoolcraft – Tenors
Nate Schoolcraft, aged 20, returns for his second year at Resistance Indoor Percussion. Being from Moore, Oklahoma, Nate is a graduate of Westmoore High School and is currently pursuing a degree in Management Information Systems at the University of Oklahoma. With aspirations to join the workforce and start a business after graduation.
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: I was in the Musical Annie.
Q: What do you love most about being part of RIP?
A: The community and the relationships. I’m here to get better at the art form I love while growing with the people that make this activity worth while.

A: The light at the end of the tunnel, though hard to see sometimes, is worth the long nights, hours of rehearsals, and sacrificing your weekends.
