Rehearsals and Competitions
-
Typically, rehearsals begin Friday evenings with sectionals from 7-10pm. Saturday rehearsals are from 9am-9pm with two meal breaks, each being an hour and 15 minutes long. Sunday rehearsals are from 9am-6pm with a one hour and 15 minute long meal break.
This rehearsal schedule is subject to change depending upon competition and travel schedules, rehearsal facility availability and other factors.
-
As rehearsal time is limited throughout the season, attendance is of the utmost importance. Mandatory attendance policies for rehearsals and competitions are outlined in the member contract.
Schedule conflicts should be reported by email to admin staff as soon as possible! attendance@resistanceindoor.org

Members that are 18 and older have the opportunity to opt out of WGI World Championships transportation in their contract. Transportation is only offered to WGI World Championships, although minors have guaranteed transportation to all out of state events.
If a member opts out of WGI World Championships transportation, they will see a reduction in their total fees.
-
Housing is only provided for designated overnight competitions out of state. Other accommodations will need to be arranged during rehearsal weekends and single day competitions.
Members usually stay with other members, friends or family who live in and around the Tulsa area.

A portion of member fees will be used to provide some meals during the regular season, but the vast majority of meals, including experience camps and auditions, will not be provided. We have scheduled meal breaks with sufficient time allowed to buy food at local establishments, or you can bring your own food. Refrigeration is not available, so please prepare accordingly.
Members will receive a Resistance-branded 40 oz. water bottle as part of their tour fees to help with hydration.
Members have pitched in money with each other for communal meals between themselves in the past. While these meals are not officially planned by Resistance, this is a great way for members to save money and enjoy a meal with each other. Part of the member fees will help support some of these communal meal plans for the 2025 season.
Fees
-
Member fees are paid by individuals when a contract is offered to a performer, and are used to help fund the current season of competition for the organization. These are similar to 'tour fees" in DCI. These fees cover costs such as transportation, show design, uniforms, instruments, drum heads, sticks, mallets, instruction, and other items.
Member fees will also include lot gear (RIP jersey, joggers), footwear, a Resistance-branded 40 oz. water bottle, and member dogtags for the season.

Resistance member fees for the 2024-2025 season are $2500 for Battery and Front Ensemble members, and $1750 for Visual Ensemble Members. This is before any fundraising or discounts are applied. A member will have a down payment amount of $1000 due at contract, and the remainder can be split up over the course of the season in monthly payments.
A discount of $200 is available for paying all member fees up front with submission of a contract. There is also a discount of $100 for every year marched with Resistance in prior seasons.
-
Yes! There are several fundraising opportunities to directly help members with their fees throughout the year. Some of these fundraisers include:
Merch sales from the Resistance website. All proceeds over cost go directly to individual member fees. The average person made $30-50 of fundraising doing this last season, with some individuals having used this to raise hundreds of dollars in the past.
Raffle ticket fundraisers. The average member fundraised $30-50 from this, quite a few people fundraised $90-100, and a couple of people have paid the majority or all of their fees with this over the years.

Thank you for your interest! Resistance frequently needs drivers, equipment movers, prop builders, and other volunteers throughout the season. If you think you might be able to help in some way, please email us! admin@resistanceindoor.org

Yes! Our membership is full of talented performers who enjoy participation in both DCI and WGI.
This participation places a larger responsibility on those members who do march in drum corps. Communication is key between both Resistance staff and drum corps staff about scheduling conflicts, including drum corps auditions and call backs.

We encourage performers to participate with their respective scholastic ensembles as mandated by WGI, if they exist at your school. Communication with your high school band director is incredibly important. No performer will march Resistance without permission from their high school program Directors, if you have existing programs at your school.
