Matt Barnes
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Matt Barnes is currently in his second year as an assistant band director at Union Public Schools in Tulsa, OK. Previously, he served as head band director at Morris High School in Oklahoma for 10 years. Since graduating college from Oklahoma State University in 2013, he has been actively involved in the marching arts educational community in Oklahoma.
Matt marched with the Troopers in 2011 playing euphonium and has written visual programs for guards, marching bands, and indoor drumline groups since then. His ensembles at Morris received numerous OSSAA awards, and his band was crowned OBA Grand Champions in 2013, among other significant accolades.
Matt is a clarinet player by trade but loves his role being the executive director at Resistance. He also loves tall cups of black coffee, his wife Beth, their four dogs and two cats, and exploring the natural beauty the world has to offer when he isn't teaching seven days a week. Overall, Matt believes that the musical arts have incredible power to communicate in ways beyond words and that arts education has the potential to transform lives.
Wesley Pendergrass
PROGRAM COORDINATOR | VISUAL DESIGNER
Wesley Pendergrass, an Arkansas native, has been involved in marching arts design for 17 years. Shoeless Wes' BOA/DCI/WGI experiences include program design, consultation, and staging/drill design across the United States, Japan, and Thailand.
In marching band, Wes' clients have appearances in BOA Grand National Finals; Finals at San Antonio, Indianapolis, Atlanta, and Saint Louis BOA Super Regionals; USBands Championships Finals; and State Finals in Texas (UIL), Colorado (CBA), Kentucky (KMEA), New York (NYSFBC), Kansas (KBA), Oklahoma (OBA), Arkansas (ASBOA), Nebraska (NSBA), South Carolina (SCBDA), Mississippi (MBA), and Florida (FMEA).
Pendergrass' expertise has also garnered finalists in all WGI Guard classes (A, Open, World), and 16+ WGI medals in SA, IA, SO, IO, PSA, PIA, PSO, PIO, WSA, WSO, and WIW---- including 11 WGI Gold medals (spanning the trio of divisions (Guard, Winds, and Percussion).
Outside of the marching arts idiom, Wesley Pendergrass stages large scale events including corporate shareholders meetings, political inaugurations, Olympic Opening Ceremonies, The X Games, and more.
Bryson Teel
MUSIC COORDINATOR | ELECTORNICS ARRANGER
Bryson Teel, a Washington state native, is currently active as a marching arts sound designer and teacher in Bristol, Connecticut. As a performer, Bryson was involved in the activity as a tenor drummer, marching with the Madison Scouts, 7th Regiment, and the Southington High School Marching Band.
A graduate of Western Connecticut State University, Bryson holds a B.M. degree in Audio & Music Production with a Focus in Percussion Performance. Applying skills learned from studying modern composition and audio engineering, Teel has worked as a designer and teacher for marching programs around the country including The Spartans, The University of Connecticut, the Connecticut Hurricanes, 7th Regiment, Newtown HS, and Paragould HS.
Tim Bartee II
FRONT ENSEMBLE ARRANGER | ELECTRONICS CAPTION LEAD
Tim Bartee II is an active educator across Oklahoma. He is currently the Front Ensemble Coordinator for Edmond HS and Tulsa Union. His past teaching experiences also include Broken Arrow, Southmoore, Carl Albert, and Monarch Independent in '19 and '20.
Tim has a very diverse marching background. His WGI journey was spent with Resistance '12-'15, Gateway '16-'17, and Monarch '18. Tim spent his summers marching with Forte '12, The Madison Scouts '13-'14, The Bluecoats '15, Carolina Crown '16, and aged out with The Cavaliers in '17.
Tim is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Jazz Studies at The University of Central Oklahoma. In his free time, Tim likes to jam in a local funk band.
Dawson Kling
BATTERY ARRANGER
Dawson Kling was born and raised in Moore, Oklahoma. Dawson attended Westmoore Highschool and Oklahoma City Community College. His WGI career began in the 2015 and 2016 seasons, performing with Resistance Indoor Percussion. His first season as a performing member of Rhythm X was 2020, which is when he moved to Centerville, Ohio. Dawson marched with The Academy, Carolina Crown, and Bluecoats before his time with Rhythm X.
While living in Oklahoma, Dawson worked primarily with his alma mater, Westmoore High School (2017-2019), as well as Carl Albert High School (2016) and Putnam City West High School (2019). Since moving to Ohio, Dawson has worked with Bellbrook High School, Centerville High School, and is currently a snare technician at Rhythm X and The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. Dawson still resides in Centerville, Ohio, and remains very active giving private lessons remotely.
Travis Turner
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR | BATTERY TECHNICIAN
Travis Turner lives in Northwest Arkansas and is currently employed as a 3-8 grade general music teacher and band director in Southwest Missouri. He is a master’s candidate at Kansas State University and was formerly a graduate assistant with the Kansas State Bands. In this position, he directed the concert band, wrote drill and taught the marching band and managed and facilitated many aspects of the band program as a whole. He holds a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in trombone performance from Missouri Southern State University, where he performed with the marching band, jazz orchestra, and wind ensemble.
Travis has been involved in the marching arts for over 10 years in various capacities. He continues to educate through music, band, and the marching idiom, as well as writing drill and designing shows throughout the country with his brother. Travis performed with Resistance Indoor Percussion from 2017-2019 and has been on staff since aging out of the activity. As an alumnus of Resistance, he is excited to bring his passion and experience back to the “Home Team”.
Justin Park
EDUCATION COORDINATOR | BATTERY CAPTION LEAD
Justin Park, better known as JP, joined the staff of Resistance Indoor Percussion in the fall of 2013. Although an Oklahoman by birth, JP started his percussion studies in Fresno, C.A. in the Clovis West High percussion program. Receiving instruction from Jeff Lee, Dave Glyde, and Mike Atesalp, he was introduced to indoor percussion in 1992. Under the direction of Don Silva and Eric Melson, JP performed with the Sacramento Freelancers from 1998-2001 in the WGI Sport of the Arts Percussion circuit. JP was the Percussion Director for the Chandler High School Music Program from 2014-2023, and is currently a resident clinician for the OBU Bison Brigade Marching Band.
Mason Rhue
FRONT ENSEMBLE CAPTION LEAD
Mason was born and raised in Broken Arrow, OK where he performed with the award-winning marching band and indoor percussion programs. His independent performance experience includes Resistance Indoor Percussion (2017-2018, 2020) and the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps (2018). This will be Mason’s fourth year on staff with Resistance Indoor Percussion and second as Front Ensemble Caption Lead. Mason currently resides in Norman, OK where he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma with research interests in carbon nanomaterials and polymer composites.
Megan Garrett

Megan Garrett, an Arkansas native, is a passionate music educator in the Fort Smith School District. She currently leads as Head Band Director at Ramsey Middle School and directs the Color Guard at Southside High School. Known for her versatility, Megan has led leadership and conducting clinics while also teaching color guard, movement, and marching techniques to programs across Arkansas and surrounding states.
As a performer, Megan has been involved in the Pageantry Arts in multiple capacities, having marched with Aevitas Independent Winter Guard, Resistance Indoor Percussion, and The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps. She earned her Bachelor’s in Music Education from Arkansas Tech University and is certified to teach K-12 Instrumental and Vocal Music in Arkansas, with a Master’s Certificate in ESOL.
When she's not teaching, Megan enjoys exploring great food, discovering new music, and spending quality time with her beloved cat, Pita.
Haruka Huffman
FINANCIAL MANAGER
Haruka, a Japanese native, has been involved with the marching arts for over a decade. She is currently a visual technician in the local OKC area working for Southmoore High school and a Barista for Starbucks.
Haruka has ballet experience and was a trumpet player for The Yokohama Scouts (2009-2015), Crossmen (2014-2015) and The University of Texas at Arlington (2019). She graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of Central Oklahoma and a English Translator specialization from The Japanese College of Foreign Language.
Haruka enjoys playing with her 2 dogs and cat, animal crossing, drawing, and outdoor activities with her husband, Shelby.
Cread Helton
ALUMNI COORDINATOR | PROP MANAGER
As a charter member of Resistance Indoor Percussion, Cread is back again and excited as ever to kick off another season with RIP. This will be his 9th season as a staff member, preceded by two seasons as a member, and two seasons as a volunteer.
Cread's marching career began as a member of the Perkins-Tryon Midnight Regiment, throughout his high school years. Followed by three seasons performing with the UCO Stampede of Sound. Two years later he aged out with RIP in the 2012 season.
Cread is honored and humbled to be asked to return and be a part of such an outstanding program as RIP, as it has had such an impact on his life already.
Katy Church
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Katy Church is an Arizona native who grew up in Claremore, Oklahoma. After graduating in 2018, she worked for the Claremore High School Band as the Front Ensemble and Percussion Coordinator for six years. She also co-directed an indoor percussion ensemble for both Claremore HS and Collinsville HS during those years. Katy attended Rogers State University and obtained an A.A. in Elementary Education, and now works as an Admissions Processor at RSU.
Katy’s independent percussion experience includes competing in the WGPO circuit during high school, and playing Vibraphone with Resistance during the 2019-2022 seasons.
Gage Dunson
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
A lifelong resident of the Tulsa area and a graduate from Union High School, Gage has performed and taught within the northeastern Oklahoma marching arts community since 2019. In addition to being a member of Resistance’s front ensemble from 2019-2022, Gage was the battery coordinator at Claremore HS for the 2019-2022 fall seasons, and a co-director for Claremore Indoor in 2020 and 2022. Additionally, he was a co-director for Collinsville HS Indoor in 2023, and a battery technician for the Collinsville marching band in 2023.
In his free time, Gage enjoys playing with his three dogs, playing disc golf, collecting soccer jerseys, and traveling for various sporting events.
Dawson Leffingwell
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Dawson Leffingwell is an award-winning music educator and percussion specialist with extensive experience in both teaching and arranging. Dawson is committed to inspiring and guiding the next generation of Oklahoma musicians through his dedication to education, leadership, and community involvement. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Oklahoma State University, where he studied under Wayne Bovenschen.
Dawson currently serves as the Field Percussion Coordinator at Muskogee Public Schools. In the spring of 2024, he established the first ever competitive indoor percussion ensemble in Muskogee history, which culminated in a State Championship in the Winter Guard & Percussion of Oklahoma Scholastic Marching B Class.
During the summer, Dawson also serves as the Band Director at Oklahoma American Legion Boys State. He has demonstrated a commitment to excellence that has been recognized with both the Glenn Reeder Award for Administrative Excellence in 2023, and the John Ruth Award for Excellence in Counseling in 2021.
Dawson is a proud alumnus of Kingfisher High School, Resistance Indoor Percussion (2016-2019), Compass Drum and Bugle Corps (2021), and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.
Amber Jones

Amber is a current resident in Fayetteville, AR where she has recently graduated from the University of Arkansas. She has received two Bachelors of Fine Arts in Graphic Design as well as Studio Art with an emphasis in Photography.
Amber was a member of the Razorback Drumline from 2016-2019 and started her WGI independent career in 2020 with Resistance Indoor Percussion, as well as served as cymbal section leader for the 2022 season. Amber spent the 2021 WGI season as a cymbal technician for Siloam Springs HS, as well as teaching the Razorback Cymbal Line for their 2021 and 2022 seasons. Jones is excited to be returning for the 2024 season!
Kate Richards

Kate Richards, an Arkansas native, has been apart of the marching arts since 2022. She was member of Resistance 2022-2023 along with marching George Mason University Indoor Percussion in 2024. She also did Music City Drum Corps in 2022-2023, where she also received the first ever directors award in recognition of her efforts and dedication to the corps. She has also previously worked with Collette Soriano as a cymbal tech for Har-ber High School.
She is currently working towards her dream of becoming a road manager for live music artists and loves to give back to her marching arts community.
Micaiah Barnett
VISUAL CAPTION LEAD | MEDIA & GRAPHIC DESIGN
Micaiah Barnett resides in the northwest Arkansas area, where he is a percussion instructor, choreographer, and visual designer for the marching arts. He focuses his efforts on visual design, creating custom props, uniforms, and silks for scholastic and independent groups across the country. As a performer, Micaiah played snare with Resistance Indoor Percussion in their 2018, 2020, and 2022 competitive seasons.
As an educator, Micaiah’s ensembles have made several successful appearances in USBands, ASBOA state finals, and AMAA Championship performances. As a designer, his clients have premiered art in nearly every idiom across the country.
In his free time, Micaiah likes to explore the world of fusion music, draw, and make coffee!
Jack Mettey
VISUAL CO-CAPTION LEAD
Jackson Mettey, a native of Northwest Arkansas, joined the Resistance staff in 2023. He has been immersed in the marching arts for seven years, with experience in DCI, WGI guard, and WGI percussion. Currently, Jackson choreographs and works with the visual ensemble at Resistance. He is studying Music Education in the Tuba studio at the University of Arkansas and recently achieved 2nd place at DCI World Championships, marching with the Boston Crusaders Drum Corps.
His DCI experience began with Music City Drum Corps, where he performed from 2018 to 2019 on guard and from 2021 to 2023 in the horn line. Jackson got his start in the marching arts with the winter guard at his high school, later becoming a part of a world-class WGI ensemble in 2020. after a brief global hiatus, he joined Resistance as a visual performer for the 2022 season.
During his free time, Jackson enjoys making music with new people, playing chess, and doing 5 million backflips in a row.
Trevor Turner
VISUAL TECHNICIAN
Trevor is currently an Assistant Band Director and brass specialist in Carl Junction, Missouri. He is concurrently a drill designer and music arranger for various high school marching bands and indoor percussion groups in Missouri and Kansas. His previous teaching experience includes serving as the Director of Bands in Willow Springs, Missouri, and as a visual, brass, and front ensemble instructor at several high schools in Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas.
Trevor holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Missouri State University, where he was highly involved in the trumpet studio. Additionally, he was a performing member of the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps in 2018, and the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps in 2021, playing trumpet both seasons. Trevor is a former member of Resistance, where he performed in the front ensemble for the 2019-2022 seasons and has been a member of the staff since aging out with the ensemble.
In his free time, Trevor enjoys playing disc golf, hiking, and collecting vinyl records.
Mason Moore
VISUAL TECHNICIAN
Mason Moore is a native of Northwest Arkansas, and a graduate of Bentonville High School. Mason has a diverse background in the marching arts, including multiple seasons of indoor percussion, indoor winter guard, and DCI.
From 2019-2021, Mason performed as a contra player with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle corps. In 2022, Mason marched cymbals with Resistance Indoor Percussion.
For the past five seasons, Mason has worked with the Bentonville High school marching band as a visual technician. Currently, Mason attends the University of Arkansas in pursuit of his Bachelor’s in Instrumental Music Education.
Shelby Huffman
FRONT ENSEMBLE TECHNICIAN
Shelby Huffman is a multifaceted individual with a strong foundation in both technology and the performing arts. Residing in Oklahoma City, he seamlessly blends his career as an XR Developer at Boeing with his deep-rooted passion for music, both as an educator and a performer.
Having graduated from the University of Oklahoma, Shelby boasts a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. Always eager to learn, he is currently furthering his education at the Georgia Institute of Technology, working towards a Master's in Computer Science. Here, he is specializing in Robotics and Computational Perception, showing his inclination towards cutting-edge technology. Additionally, Shelby possesses notable expertise in Audio Electronics, a testament to his diverse skill set.
However, Shelby’s love for music remains a cornerstone of his identity. His musical journey began in Oklahoma, where he played tenors at Choctaw High School, progressed to playing the snare for the University of Oklahoma Drumline, and culminated in his involvement with Resistance from 2014-2016. Not one to limit his horizons, Shelby's summers saw him marching with renowned groups: The Mandarins in 2016, The Crossmen in 2017 and 2018, and finally aging out with The Cavaliers in 2019. The winter months were just as musically charged, with Shelby marching with Gateway in 2017 and Monarch Independent in 2019.
As an educator, Shelby has taken on various roles that reflect his expertise and passion. Since 2016, he has been the Front Ensemble Director for Southmoore High School, ensuring the growth and success of the musical group. He also wears the hat of a Front Ensemble Tech for Zephryus and The Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. Expanding his responsibilities further, Shelby is now the Front Ensemble Director for Oklahoma Baptist University, where he continues to shape the next generation of musicians.
Shelby Huffman's journey is a testament to the harmonious coexistence of technology and art, showcasing his dedication to both fields and his commitment to fostering growth, learning, and excellence.
Roxee Jo Boyd
FRONT ENSEMBLE TECHNICIAN
Roxee Jo Boyd is a dynamic percussionist and dedicated educator based out of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Currently pursuing a Master's in Percussion Performance at the University of Arkansas, she holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the same institution.
Before returning to full-time studies, Roxee honed her teaching skills as the Director of Percussion, Assistant Band Director, Middle School Music Teacher, and Middle School Select Choir Director for the Pea Ridge School District in Pea Ridge, Arkansas. She has been on staff with the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps, Fayetteville High School, Siloam Springs High School, and the University of Arkansas Summer Band Camp.
Roxee has performed with numerous ensembles, including the University of Arkansas Wind Ensemble, the University of Arkansas Latin American Ensemble, the University of Arkansas Razorback Marching Band, the University of Arkansas Percussion Ensemble, Monarch Independent Percussion (2023), the Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps (2022), the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps (2021), Resistance Indoor Percussion (2020), and the Zephyrus Drum and Bugle Corps (2019).
In her free time, Roxee enjoys word searches, hunting for the best gluten-free donut, and making jewelry out of metal clay.
Garett Dwyer
FRONT ENSEMBLE TECHNICIAN
Garett Dwyer is the Percussion Specialist at Union Public Schools in Tulsa, OK. He holds a bachelor's degree in Percussion Performance from the Indiana University (IU) Jacobs School of Music. During his time at IU, he studied Latin American drumming, Jazz vibraphone, and R&B under the direction of Michael Spiro, Steve Houghton, Joseph Gramley, among many others.
Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Garett was a busy percussionist prior to his time in Indiana. His summers were full of percussion-related camps, masterclasses, and competitions. Most notably Garett was invited to perform as a cast member for the the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps for their 2018 and 2019 tours, and to study at The Juilliard School in 2017.
During his undergraduate Garett was heavily involved in gigging and teaching percussion to many students around the Bloomington, IN area. Garett is the Percussion Coordinator for Zephyrus Drum & Bugle Corps (Bixby, OK) and helped lead Edgewood Highschool (Ellettsville, IN) to their first IPA PSA State Championship in the 2022 season as the Front Ensemble Coordinator. Recently, Garett has worked with artists such as Bootsy Collins, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, and is frequently in the recording studio.
Chase Gulliver
FRONT ENSEMBLE TECHNICIAN
Chase is a new addition to the front ensemble staff this season. He currently lives in Oklahoma City, OK and is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in Jazz Studies. Chase is originally from Del City, OK where he performed with the award winning jazz ensembles from 2011 to 2014. His independent performance experience includes Resistance Indoor Percussion (2011, 2012, 2014, 2015) and the Blue Coats Drum and Bugle Corps (2016).
Chase has been teaching for the last 9 years as a battery tech, front ensemble tech, and program director at schools such as Putnam City High School, Piedmont High School, and in short stints at Del City, Edmond Memorial, and Luther High School. Chase is currently the Assistant Band Director at Putnam City High School where he directs the jazz, concert, and percussion ensembles, and continues to perform for various types of groups on the side as a multi-instrumentalist.
Joel Montes
FRONT ENSEMBLE CONSULTANT
Joel Montes will continue with Resistance Indoor Percussion as a front ensemble consultant for the 2025 season. Montes is an assistant band director for USD 313 Buhler Bands as well as an active musician in the Wichita, Kansas area. Joel’s teaching experience includes USD 312 Haven Bands, USD 265 Goddard Bands, Railmen Indoor Percussion, Railmen Winter Winds, Resistance Indoor Percussion, the Battalion Drum and Bugle Corps, the Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps and the Academy Drum and Bugle Corps. Montes was a member of the 2012 and 2013 Troopers front ensemble. When he is not teaching or playing, Joel enjoys spending time with his wife Gabi and their dog Billie!
Christian Leon
BATTERY INSTRUCTIONAL LEAD

Born in Plano, Texas, Christian Leon attended Lewisville High School, where he first recognized his love for the art of percussion. After receiving his Bachelor of Music in Music Education at the University of Arkansas, Christian decided to continue his education at the University of Arkansas and began work on a Master in Music degree.
During his tenure at the U of A, Christian had the opportunity to perform with many scholastic and independent ensembles, including earning the principal position for the U of A Wind Ensemble for 9 semesters. His independent ensemble experience includes The Guardians DBC, Resistance Indoor Percussion, Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, and the Artosphere Festival Orchestra.
Christian is currently the percussion specialist at Alma Public Schools in Alma, Arkansas. He resides in Fayetteville, Arkansas with his two cats, where he enjoys reading, cooking, and video games.
Mike Hill
BATTERY INSTRUCTIONAL LEAD
Mike Hill, originally from the Tulsa area, is currently a senior attending the University of Central Oklahoma. Studying Music Education, he has been been involved in the marching arts for 8 years. Mike attended Union High School where he was a part of the Renegade Regiment marching band, Union indoor percussion section, wind ensemble, orchestra, and jazz band. After high school, Mike has had the opportunity to perform with a wide array of ensembles. Performing with the Thunder Drummers for the Oklahoma City Thunder for the 2018-19 NBA season, and the Cavaliers Percussion Section for the 2020 PASIC online clinic held by the Percussive Arts Society were notable highlights. Mike was a performing member of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps as a snare drummer for the 2020 and 2021 DCI seasons as well.
Over the last five years, Mike has had the opportunity to work, write, arrange, and teach music with multiple schools in the greater Oklahoma City Metro area. For the summer of 2022 and 2023, he was the battery coordinator for Zephyrus Drum and Bugle Corps. Mike currently works as a student teacher at Bixby High School while he finishes his music education degree.
Aaron Long
BATTERY TECHNICIAN - TENORS
Aaron is a Civil Engineer in Northwest Arkansas, and a graduate of the University of Arkansas.
Starting his WGI Independent career at Resistance Indoor (2017, 2018, 2020), Aaron also marched a season with Freedom Percussion in 2019. In his continued effort to broaden his performance experience, Long spent a summer performing in the 2019 season of DCI with Music City Drum and Bugle Corps.
Aaron is an active marching percussion educator, recently a Quad Technician for The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps in 2023, he currently teaches at Bentonville HS. He has previously taught at the University of Arkansas, Bentonville West HS, Fort Osage HS, and Siloam Springs HS. This will be Aaron’s fourth year on staff at Resistance.
Rhema Baissa
BATTERY TECHNICIAN - BASS
Rhema Baissa resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and has been a drumline tech for his alma mater, Union HS, since 2018. His past teaching experience also includes being the drumline tech for Carl Albert HS in 2017. Rhema most recently was a battery technician for the The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps in 2023.
Rhema graduated with a Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Capella University in 2023. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2019 and was a member of the OSCMB bassline in 2016.
His prior WGI and DCI marching experience include Monarch Independent ‘17-‘19, The Colts ‘17, The Cavaliers ‘18, and he aged out with The Blue Knights in ‘19.
Micah Strauss
BATTERY TECHNICIAN - SNARE
Micah Strauss is a percussionist currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Percussion Performance while residing in the Oklahoma City area. He has taught as a battery instructor for Durant High School in 2021, and currently holds a battery instructor position at Choctaw High School, as well as teaching private lessons.
Micah's experience in the percussion field has given him the privilege of studying and and marching under a vast array of knowledgeable percussion educators, including the staff at Resistance, as well as Dr. Brian Stackhouse, Dr. Nicholaus Meyers, John Lluvera, and Rob Ferguson.
Micah's performance experience has provided him with a wide variety of different technical approaches and ideas, performing as a snare drummer with Resistance '22, Phantom Regiment '22, and Infinity Percussion '23.
Collette Soriano
CYMBAL TECHNICIAN
Collette resides in Fayetteville, AR where she recently graduated from the University of Arkansas and received her Bachelors of Music Education. She is currently the Shop Secretary for the instrument repair shop at Saied Music Company and is a percussion adjunct around the Springdale School District.
Collette's marching experience started at Springdale High School where she marched a season in the front ensemble and 2 seasons on the snareline. She was a member of the cymbal line of the Razorback Drumline from 2016-2019, Woo Pig! Collette performed and marched cymbals with Resistance in the 2020 and 2022 seasons of WGI.
Austin Petty
BATTERY TECHNICIAN - TENORS
Austin lives in Norman Oklahoma and is pursuing his master’s degree in music performance at the University of Oklahoma. He teaches with the Pride of Oklahoma battery and front ensemble. He has teaching experience across Oklahoma including Westmoore, Southmoore, Purcell, Norman, Altus, and Ponca City.
His marching experience includes five years with the University of Oklahoma drumline, as well as marching with Resistance Indoor Percussion in 2018 and Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps in 2020 and 2021.

Jason is an alumni of the Southmoore Marching band and Instrumental Arts. He has also marched and performed with Resistance Indoor Percussion from Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2019-2022. His past teaching experience includes a dozen high schools and colleges across Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas including Little Elm High School, Alma High School, Southmoore High School, and the University of Arkansas.
Jason currently teaches with Southmoore Percussion, as well as Zephyrus Drum and Bugle Corps and The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps. Jason looks forward to striving for excellence in his career, as he did in his marching career.
Harold Randolph
BATTERY TECHNICIAN - SNARE
Harold Randolph is a DFW-based percussionist and musician. His performance experience includes the Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps, the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps and WGI experience with Vigilantes Indoor Percussion. Harold is also a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University, with a bachelors degree in Musical Arts and a minor in education.
Harold also does lots of freelance performing in the DFW area including the Dallas Mavericks Drumline, the FC Dallas Drumline and the Cutting Edge Corps who were the Pasic Drumline Battle Champions in 2017 and 2018.
Harold has also taught with groups such as the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps and the Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps. He also has given additional instruction all around the DFW area at schools such as Allen High School, Lewisville High School, and Nimitz High School to name a few. Additionally he also wrote and arranged music for the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison Brigade marching band.
CARSON MANN
BATTERY TECHNICIAN - BASS
Carson Mann hails from Katy, TX but was originally born and raised as an Oklahoman in Bartlesville, OK. He is currently in his final year of study at Oklahoma State University where he is pursuing a BS in Secondary Education: English.
Carson has spent roughly 9 years in the marching arts, 3 of them being at the world class level. He has performed with Guardians DBC in 2021, Vigilantes Indoor in 2022, Resistance Indoor in 2024, and aged out with Crossmen DBC after 2 years with them in 2022 and 2023. Carson is currently teaching bass drum with Crossmen and Resistance, while also maintaining a battery instructor position with Stillwater High School.
In his free time Carson loves to practice bartending, guitar, and honing his skills as a writer. Aside from that he is happily living in Stillwater, OK and running a local private lesson business.
ALYSSA WIRTZ
AUDIO TECHNICIAN
Alyssa Wirtz is a music educator based in Atoka, Oklahoma. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree with a concentration in Instrumental Music from Oral Roberts University, where she studied under Christy Foster. While attending ORU she performed with the ORU Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Orchestra, Clarinet Choir, the OkMEA Intercollegiate Band and the Assembleia de Deus Sobradinho orchestra in Sobradinho, Brazil.
Alyssa is currently serving as the Assistant Director of Bands at Atoka High School, and McCall Middle School, the Guitar Director at Atoka High School, and the McCall Middle School 6th Grade Choir Director for Atoka Public Schools. Prior to teaching at Atoka, Alyssa served as the Band Director and Music Teacher at Geronimo Public Schools.
In addition to the work she does at Atoka Public Schools, Alyssa serves as an audio staff member for Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps. Locally, she serves as an audio staff member for McAlester Theatre, The Revolution, and McAlester High School musical theatre programs.

Fayne Speer is currently an Elementary Music Teacher in Carl Junction, Missouri. He is also a percussion instructor and audio engineer for the marching band program at Carl Junction High School, and works as Technical Director at Pittsburg Presbyterian Church. His passion is for experiencing music and sound and sharing the experience with others, whether it be through playing, singing, recording, mixing, or teaching.
During college, Fayne worked as an Assistant Technical Director at Memorial Auditorium in Pittsburg, KS. Amongst various types of stage work, his focus was live audio mixing for concerts, conferences, and theatrical productions, as well as audio equipment upkeep. He also developed and continues to oversee the weekly technical operations at Pittsburg Presbyterian Church.
Fayne holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Pittsburg State University, where he was thoroughly involved in the Music Department. Most notably, in Fall 2021 he won the Concerto Aria contest on Timpani, and in Spring 2023 was one of the Percussion Quartet soloists for "Re(new)al" by Viet Cuong.
In his free time, Fayne enjoys taking walks, boondocking, learning facts about humans and the world, and extending his Duolingo streak.
Dr. Brian Stackhouse
PROGRAM CONSULTANT
Dr. Brian Stackhouse received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Arkansas Tech University, his Master of Music in Percussion Performance from the University of Arkansas, and his Doctorate in Percussion Performance from The University of Oklahoma. Brian is currently the Director of Athletic Bands at Oklahoma Baptist University, and has been instrumental in growing the marching program at OBU.
Brian conducts clinics and master classes at various institutions from high schools to universities and including the Oklahoma Homeschool Bands program. He has written many marching percussion books beginning in his time at Arkansas Tech University and including various high schools as well as the University of Oklahoma and instructed drumlines at all three institutions he attended. Brian has been an active instructor at Arkansas Tech University and University of Arkansas Summer Band Camps and adjudicator at various competitions. During his time at the University of Oklahoma, he managed the OU Percussion Press and conducted an in depth study of Jacques Delécluse’s Douze Études pour Caisse-Claire. Brian also was formerly the Percussion Studio and Drumline Instructor at Southern Nazarene University.
Brian has performed with drum corps, orchestras, jazz combos, stage bands, percussion orchestras, and soloed at different events including the National Conference of Percussion Pedagogy where he has served as the head of logistics and been a member of the management team. During his time in the University of Oklahoma Percussion Orchestra, the group premiered new pieces and was featured many times on Vic Firth. Brian’s passion is the marching arts and got his introduction to DCI as a snare drummer for Memphis Sound in 2004 and 2005. He was also a member of the DCI Honor Corps in 2005, which performed at Disney World.
