Devon Johnson is a dedicated percussion educator and performer based in Moore, Oklahoma, with a lifelong passion for the marching arts. His deep-rooted commitment to the activity is reflected in both his extensive performance pedagogy and his ongoing work in shaping the next generation of front ensemble musicians and percussionists.
Devon's musical journey began at Southmoore High School starting as a Brass player. After 2 years of playing percussion, his talent and dedication quickly took him to the highest tiers of the indoor and outdoor marching activities.
As a performer, he marched with Resistance Indoor Percussion, later moving on to perform with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps and Rhythm X Indoor Percussion.
Transitioning from performer to educator, Devon has built a teaching portfolio across the region and the country. He currently serves as the Front Ensemble Coordinator for his alma mater, Southmoore High School, and has previously served on the instructional staffs at Edmond Memorial High School and The Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps.
Now returning to where his independent marching career began, Devon is thrilled to step into the role of Asst. Caption Head for Resistance Indoor Percussion, eager to foster the same culture of excellence, passion, and growth that defined his own time in the community.
